Early Morning Memory Performance

Of particular importance to students with early scheduled classes and exams is one study from 2016 on the effects of caffeine on memory performance in young adults.

Specifically observing the effects of caffeine during “non-optimal times of day,” which included early morning and late afternoon, the researchers concluded that:

“caffeine has a specific benefit for memory during students’ non-optimal time of day—early morning. These findings have real-world implications for students taking morning exams.”3

As you can see, caffeine and memory are tied together!

The Do’s and Don’ts of Mixing Caffeine and Studying

If used incorrectly, meaning if you take too much caffeine at the wrong times, caffeine may impair academic performance.

With that in mind, here are a few of the basic do’s and don’ts to consider when mixing caffeine and studying:
